Working Together Research Project

We are now at the writing up stage of this project - details to follow as we have them.

The paragraphs below describe our aims and methods.

HEN received funding from Awards for All for our ‘Working Together’ Project to learn from community groups and organisations across the Highlands what support would help them to get more involved in environmental projects and sustainable issues.

Seven researchers across the Highlands carried out a survey and spoke to a wide range of groups and organisations - some that focussed on environmental subjects and others whose focus on other issues - for example community or health.

The researchers discussed some of the challenges that groups face in developing their projects, and what could be done by other groups, agencies and funders to support them.

 The researchers were:
  • Caithness - Louise Senior
  • Sutherland - Romany Garnett
  • Ross-shire - Anna Jemmett
  • Inverness-shire - Anna Scott
  • Badenoch and Strathspey - Rachel Avery
  • Skye and Lochalsh - Ellie Maclennan
  • Lochaber - Victoria Barker
They spoke to at least 10 groups/organisations across each area.

A short report on the findings and our proposed actions will be available during the Autumn and will be circulated to all those who spoke to our researchers. If you would like a copy or would like to know more about the research contact Caroline on hen@highlandenvironment.org.uk or by phone on 07470 481628
